BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Northumberland

Mottoes read: "Pereunt et Imputantur" and "Solem quis dicere falsum audeat". Inscr reads: "Variation twenty seven degrees westerly, Anno Domini 1858, Latitude 55N. In spandrels "Thomas" "Armstrong" "Teacher" "Newcastle". Shows 5am to 7pm in 30, 15 and (with dots) 7.5 min marks. Uses XII and IV. Numerals read from inside the dial. Circle of compass divided into 360 degrees numbered in tens (Arabic). Set on a square section ’hyperbolic’ (cooling tower) shaped pedestal with square capital and base.
