BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dorset

Stored safely indoors. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 10 and (numbered in Arabic twenties), 2 min marks. Uses XII and IIII. Noon gap. Numerals read from outside the dial. Half hours marked by prominent inward lines ended with diamonds and by short outward lines ended in triple arrow motif. Sigmoidal gnomon with two quarter round side supports. Maker given as "J Gilbert Tower Hill London 1776" and believed to be J Gilbert II.
