BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Prestwick Cross (1), Prestwick

The dial stands on a plain square-section sandstone pedestal with octagonal top, painted cream, 940 mm high. A tablet records “Presented to the Burgh of Prestwick by the 14th Ayrshire (Prestwick) Boy Scouts Group to Commemorate the 50th Anniversaryof the Group Foundation 1909 - 1959”. Roman numerals read from inside. Mistakes have been made and partially corrected in the numerals for 4, 5 and 6am. Hour lines appear to radiate from end of bracket holding the broken gnomon, rather than from the root of the gnomon. No sub-divisions.
