BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dublin

This good public dial has suffered from graffiti, which we may hope can be removed. It is inscribed: "Inveagh Gardens", and shows 5am to 7pm with 30, 15 and 5 min marks. Numerals, using XII and IIII, are read from outside the dial, and some are infilled with black wax. 8-point compass rose. Elegant stepped rear edge to gnomon. Set on a plain baluster pedestal with a circular top and a two stepped octagonal plinth. The Equation of Time is shown on a nearby plaque.
