BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Ardgillan Castle, Swords

The dial is in the Walled Garden. It shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 5 min marks hours. Fleur de lys marks Noon. Uses XII and IIII. Noon gap. Numerals to 9am and after 2pm are orthogonal to the hour lines. Flames of sun become hour lines. Overhangs a brick pillar 1000h. Two plaques give EoT (graph) and note that 24.5 mins needs to be added for longitude. Design Lat is N5335.
