BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Shows 6am to 6pm in half hours. Numerals and furniture in relief. Numerals aligned with hour lines and read from inside the dial. ’V’ cut out at S. Maker’s name on periphery at noon. Open gnomon with two supporters. Set on modern circular section pedestal, top and plinth and with chamfered capital. An inscription on the base reads: "An enemy landmine exploded here September 3rd 1940". An earlier dial may have been here. Located in the churchyard.
