BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Motto is recorded as: "Time Fly" but this is doubtful. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30 and 15 min marks. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from outside the dial. Noon gap. The gnomon line bisects the octagon flats. Hour lines are drawn through the numerals (though using one edge where possible). Circle at gnomon root. Inscription on capital top reads: "A little garden in loving memory". Set on square section stone column and top.
