BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Suffolk

Memorial sundial on a baluster pedestal mounted on a grave. The sundial shows the time from 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 7.5 minute intervals. At the gnomon root a compass rose is shown and two phoenixes face each other at the centre of the dial. The tip of the gnomon is missing. A motto on the dial reads: "Time is Money" and the memorial inscription on the base of the plinth is to Wm W Ellis died 1940. Around the capital the inscription: "Time Passes Memory Remains".
