BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hartlebury Castle, Hartlebury

On a cupola in the centre of the roof of the museum is a large circular dial recently (Mar 2011) repainted. Around the top of the chapter ring, in Gothic characters, is the motto, "Eheu fugaces" (a contraction of the passage from Horace’s Odes which reads, in full, "Eheu fugaces, Postume, Postume, Labuntur anni" translated as "Alas, Postumus, the fleeting years are slipping by.") The origin is near the centre of the dial, with a large yellow or gold starburst round the gnomon root, on a grey/blue ground. Short rays at the top, longer thinner rays in the lower part form hour lines for 7am to 6pm. Aligned numerals VII - XII - IIII - VI. Divided to quarter hours by black and white segments in a narrow ring inside the chapter ring, which is black with white or grey lettering.
