Dial in Warwickshire

This is a memorial dial for the Livesey family and dates from 1925. It is set on a stone pedestal with a square base and a roll edge capital. There is an inscription round the upper circumference of the capital in a strange script almost impossible to read. In some places it looks more like a decorative frieze but the words "and Shadows" can just about be distinguished. The dial shows IV to VIII in 30, 15 and 5 min marks, using XII and IIII, the numerals read from outside the dial. In the centre of the dial plate are a sun face and an 8-point compass rose. The open gnomon has a curly rear supporter and a hole through a bulbous tip. On the south wall of the nave near the west end can be found a mass dial.
