Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cornwall

The dial is in the Garden of Remembrance. It is set on a cylindrical stone pedestal 1160h with square collar near the top, on which is written the inscription ’Formerly at Admiralty House Plymouth’. Also on the pedestal is ’In Time of Peace Prepare for War 1917’. The dial shows 6am to 6pm in hours using XII and IV, the numerals read from outside the dial. The time scale and the gnomon root are in the northern half of the dialplate. The RNAS crest is embossed at the south, and an albatross is embossed across the dial under the gnomon.
