Tetworth Hall, Tetworth, near Waresley

Tetworth Hall is a Grade II listed Queen Anne-style mansion, built in 1710. Its five-ring bronze equatorial dial, a pleasingly aged armillary sphere, is set on the sunny patio beside the house. A bell-shaped support carries meridian, equatorial, east-west and horizon rings but the time is indicated in hours only. The upward-pointing arrow gnomon has a curvaceously scrolled head but no flight.
