BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dunrobin Castle, Golspie

Roman numerals, read from outside, 4a.m. to 8p.m. Hours, halves, quarters and 7 1/2mins marked; half-hours have fleur-de-lys. Central 16 point compass rose. Dun Robin engraved in the Noon gap. Watch faster/watch slower EoT rings. Engravings:- BENJ. SCOTT LONDON, at gnomon heel; heraldic crest at gnomon toe, LAT and other illegible markings; various locations around dial plate, two clearly visible - LONDON 12 mins following noon and DUBLIN 13 mins. Solid gnomon with undercut rear edge. Circular sectioned, baluster style plinth on two stepped base.
