BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The dial is in the rear garden, set on a pedestal built from slate ’slices’. It shows 5am to 7pm in half and quarter hours, using XII and IV, the numerals aligned and read from the south. The motto reads: "Tempus Fugit". All the markings are embossed. The gnomon has ornate piercing.
