BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The motto reads: "Sole Umbra ????". The dial stands on a square section pedestal built from slates, in the front garden. It shows 4am to 8pm in intervals down to 5 minutes, and has a sunface at the centre. The simple gnomon has an ’S’ supporter. There is another dial at this location.
