BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Cyril Hart Arboretum, Coleford

Near the entrance to the Arboretum. Motto reads: "Tempus Fugit". Raised semi circular wooden seat forms the dial scale with numerals on inset copper squares. Eye motif marks noon. Shows 6 am to 6 pm in hours. Gnomon is also wood with inset copper plate and motto. A hole runs E-W through top of gnomon and holds coloured Perspex panel and inscription ’And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose’ in relief. Nearby plaque has letters in relief and in Braille.
