BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Kent

The dial is mounted between first floor windows, and has been moved a short distance on the wall. The earlier site can still be seen with surrounding sun flames. The motto at the top reads: "Tempus Fugit". In the centre of the circular time scale is: "AD 1564". Gold spandrels. Shows 7am to 6pm in hours, using XII and IIII. The numerals are brass on a blue ground, and point to the centre of circle, not to the gnomon root. Some numerals are reversed by being fixed as blocks back to front. There is no noon gap. Possibly the earliest dated scientific dial in Kent.
