BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (N)

The pedestal is outside the church but the dial, which has no gnomon, is inside. It shows 4am to 8pm in hours. Dots in chapter ring may mark half hours. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from inside the dial. A north south line extends south below the gnomon root as if it were an hour line and bisects the initials. Four hole fixing. [The dial was missing for years but was returned anonymously in 1996]
