BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Somerset

The dial is located on the south terrace balustrade but may have been originally on the current dovecote column. The north face has the motto ’Umbra Sumus’, and Lat 50 52 and the date, and on the south is ’Pereunt et Imputantur’ . The north and west gnomons were missing in 2002, and were replaced by H James. The four faces show: south Roman 7am to 6pm (hours); east Arabic 4am to 11am (half hours), north Roman 4am to 7pm (hours); and west Roman 1pm to ?7pm (half hours).
