BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

No2 Almshouses, Elmswell

Vertical stone sundial over central doorway of almshouses adjacent to church. The sundial shows the time from 5am to 4pm in half and quarter hours, being marked in black on a white background. The metal rod gnomon is ball ended and has a single ’S’ shaped supporter. A plaque below records the gift of funds for the almshouses.
