BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Pines Garden, St Margaret’s at Cliffe

One of two dials at this location. This one is on the patio and is a replacement dial for a better pedestal. It is secured with rusting steel screws! Hours are shown from 4am to 8pm in half hours (possibly smaller divisions too). Roman numerals use the form XII and IIII. The chapter ring is in the form of a cartouche bent into a circular shape enclosing an eight point compass. The gnomon may be later addition. The dial is mounted on an octagonal pedestal 900mm high with a cracked circular capital and octagonal plinth.
