BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Nicholas Church, Leicester

The dial is above a buttress on the south wall. It shows 5am to 4pm in half and quarter hours, using XII and IIII, with numerals aligned vertically. Semicircle at gnomon root. ’S’ shaped supporter to gnomon. S/S support brackets added to dial 2009; regilded by Robert Ovens, Lyddington, 2009. Possibly made by Thomas Woodcock. See also the very similar SRN 4443 at Breedon on the Hill, and SRN 7982 at Newtown Linford, all three being within a few miles of each other.
