BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Old Rectory, Hawling

Dial over front door largely hidden by honeysuckle. Appears to have original gnomon. The gnomon design is very early, 16th or 17th century. May be one of earliest domestic dials. More information and better photograph requested. Access on ’Open Gardens’ days only.
