BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is located in the garden south of the house. The dial plate is engraved with the motto ’Shades Tell’ and time markings for 4am to 8pm in half and quarter hours. The gnomon is of the pierced type containg an ’S’ shaped support. The dial is set on a straight sided sandstone pedestal approximately 1500mm tall. The pedestal was probably moved to the present location from elsewhere in the garden in 1828. The present dial was mounted to the pedestal in the 1990s.
