The dial is made from York stone set in red concrete brick paviors, surrounded by blue-black paviors. There are inserted stones for hours, cardinal points, eight pointers to local and other places, the logo of Wisborough Green Horticultural Society, a sunburst, an instruction plaque, and a dedication plaque with the quotation from T.S.Eliot: ‘TIME PRESENT AND TIME PAST ARE BOTH PERHAPS PRESENT IN TIME FUTURE’. The date scale is formed from two slabs of York stone totalling 1.4 m x 0.4 m, by 50 mm thick. Overall the dial is 6600 wide and the semi-major axis of the hour points is 2400. Compass directions, quote from TS Eliot, date scale of months and solstices. The time scale shows GMT with hour numerals IV - XII - IV - VIII.
