BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Motto reads: "Night Cometh", in script at the south. Shows 4am to 8pm in half and quarter hours. Numerals read from outside. Uses XII and IIII. Noon gap present. Hour lines emanate from circle at gnomon root. Three hole fixing. Open gnomon with unusual ’horse’s hock’ shaped supporter. Set on square section rectilinear pedestal with square capital and base. Inscription on side of pedestal. Gnomon has bent tip.
