BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Motto reads: "Time and Tide wait for no man", on South edge of dial. Eight point sun face - no compass. Shows 4am to 8pm in half, quarter and eighth hours. Arabic umerals read from outside the chapter ring. Hour lines confined to chapter ring and pass through numerals. Three point fixing. Set on short, rough cut, square section baluster pedestal with square capital and plinth. Located in the south-east of the churchyard.
