BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Morchard Bishop

On the South wall of the nave is a dial of painted wood which was first installed in 1818. It has probably been repainted fairly recently and appears to be in good condition. The numerals and lettering are gilded on a black background. There are no hour lines but the hours VII to V are shown. The churchwardens names, Wm Norrish and Elias Tremlett, and the date are shown at the bottom of the dial. NOTE. There may be some confusion with SRN 0329 at Sandford, some 8km SE of Morton Bishop. The dial descriptions are almost identical. More information requested.
