BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Rectangular vertical south-facing dial high on the church tower.
The stone dialplate is inset into the brick of the tower and held by five cleats. It shows 7am to 6pm in hours. The 6pm line is not quite horizontal as the dial declines slightly to the west. There are no numerals visible. There is an incised circle around the gnomon root. The strip (steel?) gnomon has a single straight supporter. Size variously estimated at 800mm to 1220mm square.
The lovely 12th century church (tower is 17th century) is set in the beautiful parkland of the Craven estate which features massive pairs of gateposts - all that remains of a former mansion.
