BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Giles’ Church, Great Maplestead

Motto reads: "Amyddst ye floweres I tell ye houres". Motto unusually at N end of dial. Compass centred on gnomon root. Shows 4am to 8pm in half and quarter hours. Noon gap. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals read from outside. Sunface at cnetre. Hour lines emanate from compass or sunface.and pass through numerals. Four hole fixing. Mounted on rough stone block vaguely of square section.
