BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Inscr reads: "In Memory of Stanley Beecroft 1892 - 1958". Shows 4am to 8pm in hours only. Numerals read from inside. Uses XII and IV. No noon gap. Gnomon with single concave supporter. Strange evidence of corrosion around all engraving as if dial might have been plated? Set on tall white stone chamfered square predestal, base and capital with top of capital back cut to make upper surface octagonal.
