BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Buckinghamshire

This is a sturdy dial on a tall pedestal easily seen from the road. Thy motto reads: "hours fly". The dial shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 7.5 minute marks. The Roman numerals use XII at noon and IIII at 4am and 4pm. The numerals are aligned with the hour lines and are read from outside. The centre of the dial has a large 8-pointed compass rose. The very substantial gnomon sits on a base bar with a single ’S’ supporter. Does the foot of the gnomon lie on the VI - VI line? The dial is mounted on a circular pro-capital atop a square-section pedestal and placed in an octagonal surround, with a bench conveniently near.
