BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The dial is mounted high on the south face of the tower, resting on a drip ledge and retained by two metal pins. The lower left corner is spalling. Break arch design (with a small arch) with ’Fillingham’ inscribed in the arch above the design latitude of 53:25. Shows 6am to 6pm in half and quarter hours, using XII and IV, the numerals vertically aligned. Hours lines are drawn to a rectangle around the whole of the gnomon and its support. Half hour lines are inward pointing from the chapter ring with lozenge ends. Hour lines and half hour lines pass through chapter ring. Slight thickening of noon line. Square section bar gnomon with a single ’S’ supporter.
