BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Northamptonshire

The dial is on the chimney stack. The motto across the top reads: "Sic Transit Gloria Mundi". The dial shows 5am to 3pm in half and, in only two instances, quarters. The gnomon root is off the dialplate and the gnomon does not reach there. The semicircle at the dial top, from which some lines emanate, is not centred on the root. The 5am line is misdrawn. There are full length hour lines but variable length half hours. The two quarter marks are contained in the double edge to the chapter ring. Numerals are vertically aligned. Uses XII. An interesting dial that shows a little painting drift.
