BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is set in the Rose Gardens, to the east of the Hall. There is a central elaborately scribed face, with around it, read from the inside, ’Make time, save time while time lasts. All time is no time when time is past’. The hour numerals are IV - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the inside, with a split noon, and divided to 30, 15, 10 and 5 minutes, labelled in Arabic 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 in the outermost ring. (The delineation is actually incorrect for this style with an under-slung gnomon, where the time-scales should overlap at noon.) An additional curved plate on the north side, read from the north, is inscribed ’In Memory of / Pauline Port Ladies Captain 1984). The plinth is a Haddenstone ’Georgian’ circular sectioned baluster design (Cat No D260), and the dial plate is their Cat No X700.
