BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Golden Cross Public House, Stranraer

Stone with black painted border. Incised, gilded numerals and gilt gnomon. Arabic numerals for 6am to 6pm in half hours, with a noon gap and a cross for Noon. Built into the wall, canted to face south. The building is dated 1803 so the dial may have been moved. Since recording the dial has been painted completely black.
