BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Pecorama Gardens, Seaton

This modern stamped brass dial in the Millennium Garden shows the hours, usual on a horizontal dial, from IV to VIII divided into halves, quarters and periods of 7 1/2 minutes. It feigns antiquity by having the motto ’Tyme Flies’ and the date 1780, a device not uncommon on dials of this type. The dial plate has an 8-pomt compass rose and a winged beast by way of decoration.
