BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is by the pond. It is inscribed "Presented by Zetland Lodge No 511 with grateful hearts". The building was formerly the Royal Masonic Hospital, and there are Masonic emblems in each corner of the dial plate. The maker’s name is illegible except for the word ’London’. The dial shows 5am to 7pm in half hours. Another dial (SRN 4744) is nearby.
