BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is by the A308, opposite Taggs Island in the Thames. Thirteen hour fins around the periphery allow the time to be judged to within 30 minutes. It shows 6am to 6pm in 30mins. There are five cross rings, for the equator, the tropics and the polar circles. The lower half of dial is in the form of a bowl. Eight compass points are shown, with directions and mileages to various places, as the crow flies and by road. The dial is mounted on a bell shaped stone with three ball feet. It is similar principle to the dial in Regents Park, SRN 2538.
