BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Mowbray Park, Sunderland

On the terrace beside the lake in Mowbray Park, a 2001 gift to the Sunderland Museum by its Friends and laid out by Frank Evans. Indicates BST without a (trivial) longitude correction. Shows 5am to 9pm in hours. Circular hour markers have yellow numerals on blue and are inset into the terrace. Date scale includes instructions for use. The dial is becoming a little worn with tramping feet.
