BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Ditchingham Hall (1), Ditchingham

This double horizontal dial is set on a substantial octagonal fluted column with octagonal capital and one step plinth. The stereographic projection with ecliptic area is marked by zodiac symbols. There are 1 degree declination lines (the 10s numbered) and 5 minutes time lines (with 3-dot halves). There is a date scale in months and days, and compass directions, with 12 chapter rings for different locations, with place names between the numerals. There is an EoT table, two altitude scales, and a 3 inch diam volvelle to the south of the gnomon root. The dial shows 4am to 8pm in 1 minute marks, the numerals read from inside the chapter ring, with a split noon line, using XII and IIII. This, the original dial, is known to have been installed at Staunton Harold when new. It is now kept securely indoors at Ditchingham Hall. A resin replica by Plowden and Smith (approx 1998) was kept outside but was deteriorating by 2002. A new replica was made in bronze in 2003 (SRN 6749). Similar to SRN 2125.
