BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Our Lady’s Church, Egmanton

The dialplate is set in a wooden frame on the reveal of a South facing window, INSIDE the church. The motto reads: "Cum Caelo tacitun Machina foedus habet". [This dial has a compact with Heaven]. Four rosettes in corners (around the fixing screws) and large 12 sector (and double inner circles) floral décor circle around root. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 7.5 min marks. Uses XII and IIII. Numerals and motto read from inside the chapter ring. Hour lines extend from inner circle through numerals. Half hours marked by inward pointing fleurs de lys. Split Noon line. Dial plate has appearance of being slate. Iron gnomon (modern?) looks crude. Design Lat is N5314 at South of dial. Pillar in the churchyard is dated 1692 with churchwarden’s names on it. The dial does not look that old. Ref: Letter: NADFAS (Dukeries D&FA Soc) Church recorders’ Group 2003.
