BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Oxfordshire

By the path to the house is a modern cast bronze horizontal dial 300mm in diameter. It shows the usual hours 4am to 8pm divided into halves, quarters and periods of 7 1/2 minutes. In the centre is a sun face and an 8-point compass rose. Round the outside a motto in mock antique lettering appears as ’Tvrn yovr face to the fvn and the fhadows will fall behind you’. The dial,is mounted on a circular section baluster pedestal with round plinth 900mm high with a two-part capital, round above square.
