BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Oxfordshire

Formerly wrongly mounted on a wall as a vertical dial. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 5 min marks. Noon gap, Uses XII & IIII. Numerals read from outside the chapter ring but maker (at South and between scrolls) from inside. Time scale does not extend beyond 4am/8pm. Lozenge inward pointing half hour markers and 3 dot ones outward from inner quarter hour scale. Compass rose has alternate ’feather’ décor and named points.
