BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Houghton Hall (2), New Houghton

This is a four face dial on a baluster pillar 2m high with lions’ faces, swags and acanthus décor. The south face declines 14.6 degrees weat. The gnomons are intact with ’S’ shaped scroll supporters. The south face shows: 6am to 6pm, the west 2pm to 8pm, east 4am to 10am, and the north face 4-6 am and 6-8pm. Campbell (the house designer in 1721) is presumed to be the dial designer.
