BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Suffolk

High up on chimney breast with moulded brick pediment above. Shows 7am to 6pm in half hours. Uses XII and IV. Scroll gnomon supporter. Curious ’X’ painted in panel below. The house was visited by Queen Elizabeth I. Although clearly repainted many times this could be a very early dial contemporary with the chimney.
