BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Suffolk

The dial is held in store at the museum. It was originally above the gateway into the courtyard of Smart’s Quay, Key Street. It is half of a diptych pair with SRN 4587, with an included angle of 270 degs. It was found over SRN 4584-5 when the building was demolished in the 1920s. Shows 7am to 7pm in 30 and 15 min marks. Some numbers missing. Hour lines extend to spikes on sunburst. Inward pointing half hour markers use fleurs de lys. Last painted by Wm Corder in 1898. Date early C18.
