BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Shropshire

The dial is inscribed: "Daniel Blackman, The Farmyard, Brockton 1717". It shows 4am to 8pm in half and quarter hours, the numerals being read from inside the chapter ring and using XII & IIII. Two inner scales show the time of noon at seven locations, one of which is Port Royal (Jamaica). The gnomon has unusual double ’S’ supporters and a saddle plate securing it. An unusual 16 sided dial plate. Mounted on a sandstone pillar 1335h. An interesting dial.
