BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial House, Winston

The dial, of painted stone, has a fine appearance but is in error by some 16 mins. Unusual gnomon supporter in the form of a nearly-closed ’S’. Maker’s name, James Huitson, and date, 1750, are displayed across bottom of the dial plate. The dial is mounted at first-floor level above the front door and is currently painted stone colour with darker lines and numerals. [The house is located on the north side of the A67, 2.25miles west of the junction with the B6274.]
