BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Branklyn Gardens are on the north side of the Dundee Road. The dialplate is nicely engraved into the marble slab. It shows 4am to 8pm in 30 and 15 min marks, using XII and IIII, the numerals read from inside the chapter ring. Hour lines extend to the gnomon root. Split Noon line. Mounted on a square concrete pedestal two feet high.
This dial is to the North of SRN 1516.
At a later date an octagonal garden centre dial was placed on top in an apparent attempt to provide a gnomon. By 2016, it had been removed and re-attached 180° out of position!
